Hi everyone! As "Greetings from (insert location here)" is the way that most of my conversations start these days, it seemed only appropriate to name my blog Somewhere Out There.

What is it about the Olympics?
I know it's been two weeks but I miss the Olympics. I am not a huge sports fan but when the Olympics roll around, I am glued to the tv for two weeks. I like the concept of the games. The coming together of the world for some fun and games. I like the underdogs (Jamaican bobsled team), the come back kids, the one last hurrah athletes, those that have the expectations of the world on their shoulders and rise to the occasion, and those no one saw coming. I love the stories behind the athletes, behind the host country, behind the games. I am a people watcher plus I like to know why people are the way they are and the Olympics feeds my thirst for this. So now, here we sit two weeks later and I miss the Olympics and am seriously considering going to Rio in two years. But for now, it's time to throw myself into the Paralympics 😄.

Timber!
There is nothing quite like the feeling of coming to on your bathroom floor and trying to figure out what happened. I was walking from my bedroom to the bathroom on Saturday when I got lightheaded. I thought something along the lines of "my blood sugar is probably low" and then my next memory is an electrical popcorn storm in my head and then coming back to awareness on my bathroom floor. I thought, "how did I get here". Then I realized my knee, shoulder and head hurt so clearly I had gone down and not sat down. For the life of me, I cannot recreate how in the world I bruised and rug burned the top of my knee, bruised the front of my shoulder, and bumped the back of my head.
So off to the ER I went and many thanks to Shannon for taking me and staying with me. An EKG, CAT scan and lumbar puncture all came back fine. And, if anyone ever tells you a lumbar puncture is a simple procedure, they just numb your back and grab some fluid, DON'T BELIEVE THEM. It took my poor doctor three or four tries to make it work and I could feel all of the attempts until the last and successful one. I am having an echocardiogram this week just to be sure there are no underlying heart issues. Anyway, all is good and no real diagnosis on why but likely a sudden change in blood pressure, low blood sugar or both.
I am sincerely hoping this is the last medical emergency of the year.

Tracy in Real Life: My Journey Back to Me
In my support group we have been documenting our weight loss journeys in pictures. As the loss portion of my journey comes to an end and I embark on the maintenance phase, I thought I would share.

New Year's Eve Eve
My brothers, Matt and Mike, and my nephews Sam, Miles, Griffin, and Carter, and I all headed to the game while Shannon, Laura, Caleigh, Ashlynn and Elliot all headed to see the lights on temple Square. I could not convince any of the other girls to come to the game with me!
This is one of my favorited pictures from the night thanks to one of the family photo bombing champions.

It was a great evening and fun was had by all. It was also my New Years celebration as I ended up sick for the next week so this was my last night of fun in 2013.
