It's always interesting to go back to a place that holds so many of your best memories. I had that chance today when one of my friends hosted an "Alumni" lunch at Weber State University. There were nine of us there. Most of us had met and become friends through our involvement with ASWSU (student government) and now one of us is the grown-up in charge of student government. How did that happen? Where did the years go? When we were students, we lived in the Union building - we worked there, we played there, we ate there, we fought there, we fell into and out of love there, and we even on occasion slept there. We laughed, we cried, we celebrated and we mourned together through the journey we call "college". After we graduated the Union building underwent a major reconstruction and most of us had not been back to see the changes so we took this journey together. There were a lot of sentences that started with "this used to be the..." and "do you remember when we..." And suddenly, for a moment, we were those carefree girls again, on the brink of adulthood, with the belief and the power that comes from knowing you can do or be anything you want.Hi everyone! As "Greetings from (insert location here)" is the way that most of my conversations start these days, it seemed only appropriate to name my blog Somewhere Out There.

Ah, the memories. I remember being in college like it was just yesterday.
My last memory of WSU was hanging out with you at some day camp. Hard to believe that was twenty years ago.
